Surrender
Surrender Information
Do you need help rehoming your pet safely & responsibly?
We are a foster-based rescue. The majority of our fosters are fostering stay pets they have found and have chosen to help, fostering pets we have saved from our local shelter or fostering their own pets who they can no longer care for long-term due to life changes such as divorce, eviction, job loss, disability and etc.
By fostering these pets for 2-3 weeks, we are able to rehome these pets without them facing the trauma of being surrendered to the local animal shelter. This also greatly reduces their chance at being euthanized.
The first step to rehoming your pet is to have your pet spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Please make your appointment at www.fixwesttexas.org. If we need to help you with the cost, we can do so through our Pets in Need program. Just let us know by emailing kim@fixwesttexas.org so we can request donations to cover the amount you cannot afford.
The second step, once your pet is fixed, vaccinated and microchipped, is to complete the Surrender Application. We will quickly approve your application and schedule your first drop-off at the Petsmart Midland Adoption Center. Your pet will stay with us from 10:30-5:50pm, as we work to show them on social media and to adopters in the store. If you are able to bring your pet regularly (at least on the weekends) we are usually able to find adopters for most pets within 2-3 weeks.
